FACE Stockholm Matte Foundation
This is by far the best foundation I have found for my combination, sensitive and truly pale English rose complexion. I have searched high and low for the most suitable base ranging from the ridiculously expensive Chantecaille and Suqqi brand to the high street and everywhere in between.
Do not be fooled by its name. It does not look or feel cakey like you would assume with a matte foundation but instead leaves my skin with a lovely natural glow that is rather a silky matte (if there is ever such a phrase?). I would not it rule it out if you are on the drier side; simply apply a more emollient moisturiser or primer.
FACE Stockholm state that this is more suited to sensitive skin types and I have experienced no problems with this to date. It is oil free but non drying and as strange as it sounds melts in to my skin like butter. This may be in part due to the perfect colour match to my skin tone, something which even the legendary Bobbi Brown failed to achieve.
The only FACE Stockholm store in the UK is situated on King Street, Manchester but products may be bought online from www.facestockholm.co.uk. If you are lucky enough to live in or around the Manchester area then drop by the store where you’ll find the staff welcoming and helpful. I have never felt any pressure to buy and I have always been made to feel at ease when simply browsing the wonderful products. That in itself will keep my custom.
I have made several more purchases since my love affair with FACE Stockholm began and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every one of them. I cannot believe we have been without this brand for so long (I believe at one point they had a store in Covent Garden??). I may have to relocate to Sweden should they wrap it up again in the UK!
